Screen Shot 2015-08-05 at 4.00.13 AMWHEREAS, Reverend Terry Lee was born and raised in Cowley, Jamaica; he moved to New York in 1989, and for almost two decades, his “Church on Wheels” has been traveling all throughout New York City teaching and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to many; and WHEREAS, The Church on Wheels is a household “moving landmark” Through-out Brooklyn which helps create spiritual awareness and comfort rescues through many programs, including the I.R.T.C. program; and WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in this noble Empire State is nourished and fulfilled through the faithful concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies and purpose to the ministry of others; and WHEREAS, In 1994 Reverend Lee opened Byways and Hedges Youth For Christ Ministry,Inc.; since its beginning, the church’s teaching and practice of love and compassion has culminated into a large congregation throughout Brooklyn; and WHEREAS, As an active resident of the Brooklyn community, Reverend Lee provides spiritual guidance to many families and individuals; he is also a member of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and currently serves as a member of Community Board 17, Borough of Brooklyn Ecumenical Advisory Group, and Churches United to save and heal; and WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Lee’s strong beliefs and vision that communities are as one village where everyone works together toward empowerment has led him to network with many political and civic leaders in New York including the New York Police Department; he serves as a mediator between the community members and the Police Department, particularly the 67th, 70th, and 71st precincts as part of the NYPD Clergy Liaison Unit and a member of the NYPD Civilian Observation Patrol (COP); Reverend Lee often speaks to the new recruits during their orientation to help them gain a better understanding of the communities they serve and thus enhance the community-police relationship; and in 2001, Rev. Lee was selected as a “Police Inspector for a Day” to the Transit Department; and WHEREAS, he created a

“CLEAN UP TEAM” ON UTICA AVENUE promoting good citizenship; and IT SHOULD BE RECORDED THAT EVEN AN A NON-IMMIGRANT REV. TERRY LEE WAS CALLED UPON AS A FIRST RESPONDENT TO ASSIST DURING 911 AT GROUND ZERO, WORKING IN CLEANING UP OF THE AREA AND CONSOLING SOULS.

WHEREAS, Reverend Lee is an active resident of the Brooklyn community where he provides daily spiritual guidance to many families and individuals.  He is also an active member of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), and serves as member of Community Board 17, Borough of Brooklyn Ecumenical Advisory Group, (BBEAG), and Churches United to Save and Heal (CUSH). WHEREAS, Pastor Lee is the CEO of many annual events such as immigration seminars with USCIS Officials, Unity Walk, Whitehouse Prayer Vigil, Brooklyn Salute Awards, Domestic Violence & Gang Violence Awareness, Food and Clothing Drive, and Revelation Soldiers Labor Day Evangelism. He currently serves as Chaplain for the BedStuy Ambulate Save–A-Life Services; and WHEREAS, Reverend Terry Lee as Founder/CEO of White House Prayer for our Nation, where he received proclamations from President Bush and President Clinton and numerous awards from former Borough President Marty Markowitz, Police Commissioner Kelly, Mayor Bloomberg and currently all elected officials, Borough President Eric Adams, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Assembly and Congressional representatives and council members who see his valuable work in the community as beneficial and noteworthy; and WHEREAS, as President of By-Ways Real Life Times, a community newspaper, which empowers and educate community members on immigration and related issues. He is also the Founder and President of Community Concerns Network, Inc. (CCN) where he goes out in the trenches to assist the homeless and bring hope to the weary, especially during Hurricane Sandy, where he provided hot soups and meals to warm their hearts and minds. WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Terry Lee’s integrity and passion for others and his faith in God create a dynamic and effective teaching environment in his church and on the streets; and WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Lee has brought to his ministry an overwhelming spirit of charity and compassion, acting from vision and enlightenment in conducting his administrative and spiritual duties, while always displaying the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and dedication; and WHEREAS, This Honoring Body commends Reverend Dr. Terry Lee, noting his unremitting and compassionate faith and his exemplary service to God, man, and his community, and extending to him heartfelt best wishes and for a future of purposeful success and well-being; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that we are justly proud to honor Reverend Dr. Terry Lee upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition.
